New Kia EV9 primed as premium electric

Hình ảnh
Kia will look to take on   Range Rover   with its new EV9 electric SUV, which is set to arrive in the UK next year. Spotted testing on European roads for the first time, the Kia EV9 will be the Korean brand's largest European model so far, sitting at the top of its range. The prototype seen testing was camouflaged, but Kia's European design chief, Gregory Guillaume, described the concept as “a close preview” – although s ome aspects aren't expected to make it to production, including the rear-hinged rear doors and the lack of a B-pillar. The new pictures of the SUV show off its large size, wide front end and hinted-at horizontal headlights. Its long wheelbase (3100mm) is also evident, with the EV9’s size the largest that can be achieved on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the same as used by the Kia EV6. The E-GMP also has an 800V electrical architecture, enabling rapid-charging at rates of up to 350kW. It's expected to be launched ...

Jaguar E-Pace 2022

Let’s address the elephant in the room: what’s happening at   Jaguar ? Not a lot, it seems. At least on the face of it, although presumably the team at its Coventry headquarters are incredibly busy preparing for its reinvention, which is due in 2025. At that time, it plans to relaunch as an electric-only luxury brand on a par with   Aston Martin   and   Bentley . That seemingly doesn’t leave much room for its existing line-up, then, which is led by the  Jaguar F-Pace ,  Jaguar I-Pace  and Jaguar E-Pace, an example of which has just joined our long-term fleet. While it’s hard to see how these cars fit into the new line-up, they remain very relevant for the market right now, all SUVs for families, one fully electric and the other two with plug-in hybrid powertrain options. Of the three, the E-Pace sold the fewest last year, although I would wager that’s because Jaguar directed its chip supply to the more expensive, profitable models and/...

Hình ảnh
The   Alpina B3   and   Alpina D3 S  have been updated in line with the arrival of the   facelifted BMW 3 Series , which was revealed by the German car maker last week.  Both cars gain a boost in power, aerodynamic improvements, a revised exterior design and new technical software.  The updated Alpina B3 is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine with an output of 488bhp - an improvement of 32bhp over the previous car. Torque is also uprated by 22lb ft to 538lb ft. The reserves are channelled through an eight-speed automatic transmission.  The B3 Saloon covers 0-62mph in 3.6sec and estate-bodied  Alpina B3 Touring  completes the sprint in 3.7secs. Top speed stands at 190mph.  Alpina’s D3 S, meanwhile, uses a 3.0-litre straight-six diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology supported by a 48V starter-generator, which, the firm says, improves throttle response and efficiency.  It has...

Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Sales The traditional  Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan  and the  Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV  were designed from the outset to have a QV, offering the customer a magnitude of difference for an enhanced experience. "Getting into a Quadrifoglio today, you are talking about more than 500 horsepower versus 280 horsepower. A lot of the AMGs, M types, they don't have that level of performance difference," Dominique says. Historically, Quadrifoglio performance variants account for about 3 percent of Alfa sales, but Dominique is seeing more demand for the additional performance and is looking to increase QV sales dramatically this year.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

Hình ảnh
It might sound strange to suggest spending as little money as possible on a new vehicle. After all, what if you'd like more features? Who wants a stripped-down base model? We totally get it, but when it comes to  the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning , the all-electric F-150 pickup, we strongly believe that the truck's value plummets  the higher up the price ladder you climb . Having just spent some time in a range of Lightnings at the EV pickup's drive launch in San Antonio, Texas— read our first drive report here! —we were able to poke and prod everything from  a base F-150 Lightning Pro work truck  (we also have a  specific first drive review of the Pro ) all the way up to a nearly six-figure Lightning Platinum variant. Our hot take advice? Skip the Platinum, and probably the next-level-down Lariat, too. Here is the F-150 Lightning we'd buy: Surprise, It's The XLT! The 2022 Lightning lineup consists of the entry-level Pro, midrange XLT, slightly luxurious Lari...
